My Studio (s)
*****The studio just
underwent a major make over I'm still adding some finishing touches so
stay tuned for new pics!*** |

Welcome to my studio! Here's a quit tour.... I have a great
little secretary's desk with a drop top and lot's of drawers and
compartments both on the inside and on the bottom, I tend to
solder at this "workstation" because I'm close to outlets for
plugging tools in. I've got a terrific antique and comfy chair that my grandmother
gave me as well as my wonderful rolling bead cart from IKEA that
makes moving any supplies I need from the bead vault (armoire) easy peasy.
Then to my left I have another work desk I tend to do paper work,
scrapbook and stamping, sanding and painting of my polymer clay
projects here. In the corner is a great little find and one of my most favorite
pieces which holds all of my rubber stamps, embellishments, hammers,
knitting needles, paper punches and other various tools as well as
beads, components and other extra's. Please excuse the mess ;)

This is my armoire it's HUGE. I call it the Bead Vault :) It holds all my
beads, tools, show displays, ribbons, paints, supplies and other
crafty stuff and hides it away nicely when I need it to! This
is all in my Family room turned Studio which sits on the main level
of my home so it's a perfect room right off of my bead studio (see
below) where I torch. It also allows me to meet with customers for commissions.

I just love my new additon to the space, I found this old dining
room table it was in terrific condition and still had it's center leaf. I
sanded it down and painted it black and it's the perfect work table
for laying out my designs, scrapbooking or for working on any of the
many projects I have going on at any given moment. The build ins
next to the fire place house my favorite books, various trinkets and
vintage cigar boxes full of more vintage goodies. The antique
console stereo belonged to my grandfather and houses a record
player, radio and 8 trac and it still works!

Along that same wall is my piano that my parents bought me
(I've been playing since I was 6yrs old) and a chair makeover
project that I just love.

My Glass Studio:

My Jen Ken Bead Box kiln w/ an Orton AutoFire 3 Button Digital
Controller great for EVERYTHING! I love this kiln! and my Oxygen
Concentrator it's a Devilbiss and it's fantastic I'm so glad I got
it! |
Left pic shows how my work area starts
out clean and organized but how after a week or so of making beads
it ends up looking like the pic on the right :)
I've got glass stashed all around here but all within easy reach, I
use floral foam to hold my dipped mandrels, baby food jars and
little metal tins for my frits, empty coffee cans for shorts and
odds and ends. Over further to the left is my soldering and silver
working table. |

It's quite the mess but I love it! The muse doesn't like things to
be in too much order, it scares her away lol! I like to think of it
as creative
chaos ;) I hope to paint a faux rug on the
cement floor soon as well as paint this boring white wall. |

Thanks for
stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the tour! |
